Add a task dependency

Dependencies let you say that one task must happen in relation to another, helping you sequence work correctly.

1. Open the task that depends on another.
2. Add a dependency and choose the task it depends on. You can only pick another task in the same project.
3. Choose the Dependency type: Finish to Start, Start to Start, Finish to Finish, or Start to Finish.
4. Optionally set Lag days (a delay, which can be negative) and add Notes.
5. Save the dependency.

Warning: The system prevents circular dependencies (where tasks end up depending on each other in a loop) and will not let you add the same dependency twice.

You can update a dependency’s type, lag, or notes later, or remove it entirely from the task.
