Once a customer accepts a quote, you can turn it into the next step of your work: a project, an invoice, or a work order. This article explains how.
When a quote can be converted
Only an Accepted quote that has not already been converted can be converted. A quote can be converted once.
Tip: Line items marked as Optional are left out of the conversion. Only the standard (non-optional) items carry over.
Convert a quote
- Open the accepted quote.
- Click Convert.
- Choose one of the options:
- Convert to Project – creates a project using the quote’s title, description, and total as the budget. Each non-optional item becomes a task.
- Convert to Invoice – creates a draft invoice for the customer with a due date 30 days out, carrying over the items, tax, and discount.
- Convert to Work Order – creates a draft work order with the items split into labor and materials based on their unit.
After conversion you are taken to the newly created project, invoice, or work order. The original quote is marked Converted, and a link to the new record appears on the quote so you can jump back to it.
Warning: A converted quote can no longer be edited or deleted.
