You can update a quote’s details and line items while it is still open. This article covers editing, duplicating, and deleting quotes.
When a quote can be edited
You can edit a quote while it is in Draft, Sent, or Viewed status. Once a quote is Accepted, Rejected, or converted, it can no longer be edited. If you open the edit screen for one of those quotes, you are sent back to the quote with a message explaining it cannot be edited.
Edit a quote
- Open the quote from the Quotes list, or use the Edit action directly from the list.
- Click Edit.
- Change the account, contact, quoted-by, title, description, dates, tax, discount, shipping, or terms as needed.
- Add, change, or remove line items. Removing a line item here deletes it from the quote when you save.
- Save your changes. The totals are recalculated automatically.
Duplicate a quote
To reuse an existing quote as a starting point, open it and click Duplicate. A new draft copy is created and you are taken straight to its edit screen so you can adjust it.
Delete a quote
- Open the Quotes list.
- Use the Delete action on the quote you want to remove.
- Confirm when prompted.
Warning: Only Draft quotes can be deleted. Quotes that have already been converted cannot be deleted. If a quote has been sent or accepted, deletion is not available.
