Signing off records that you reviewed a reconciliation and confirmed the balances. It creates a dated, named audit record — useful for month-end close and for audits — without changing any numbers.
Sign off
- Run the reconciliation for the date you want. See Run a ledger reconciliation.
- Review the results and resolve any variances you can.
- In the Sign off panel at the bottom, add an optional note (for example, an explanation for a known difference).
- Choose Sign off reconciliation.
Each subledger card then shows a green Signed off by … marker with your name and the time.
What is recorded
- The subledger and general ledger balances, and the variance, as of the date.
- Who signed off and when.
- Any note you added.
Update a sign-off
If something changes, run the reconciliation for the same date again and choose Update sign-off. The record is refreshed with the latest figures and time.
Tip: You can sign off any period-end date — you don’t need to have generated the fiscal period first. If a matching fiscal period exists, it is linked automatically.
