Tasks Overview

Tasks are the individual pieces of work that make up a project. Each task can be assigned to a team member, given a due date and priority, tracked with time entries, and discussed using comments.

Where to find Tasks

Open Tasks from the main navigation to see all tasks across your projects. You can also see and add tasks from inside a specific project.

Key concepts

  • Project – every task belongs to a project.
  • Assignee – the person responsible. This can be an internal team member or a customer contact who has portal access.
  • Status – Pending, In Progress, Review, Completed, or Cancelled.
  • Priority – Low, Medium, High, or Urgent.
  • Due date and Estimated hours – for planning and tracking.
  • Progress – a percentage; reaching 100% marks the task Completed.
  • Dependencies – links that say one task must happen before another.

What you can do with a task

From a task’s detail page you can update its status and progress, log time, add comments (with optional attachments), and set dependencies on other tasks in the same project.

Tip: When a task is assigned to someone, that person is notified automatically. Completing a task updates the project’s overall progress.
