If you cannot find the full quantity of an item while picking, use Mark Short to record what is missing. This keeps the pick list accurate and lets the order continue.
Steps
- In the Picking Workstation, open the pick list and go to the item you are short on.
- Choose Mark Short.
- Enter the Short Quantity – how many units you could not pick. (At least one, and no more than the quantity remaining.)
- Optionally enter a Reason explaining the shortage.
- Confirm. The item is recorded as short and the workstation moves on.
What happens to the pick list
Marking items short still allows the pick list to be completed. If marking an item short was the final action needed, the list is completed “with shorts” and you return to the workstation home.
Tip: Always add a short Reason when you can. It helps your inventory team investigate stock discrepancies later.
