Picking is the stage where warehouse staff gather the items for an order from their shelf locations. Items are organized into a pick list, and the Picking Workstation guides the picker through collecting everything on it.
Where to find it
Open the Fulfillment area and choose the Picking Workstation. You need the picking permission to use it.
The Picking Workstation
The workstation home shows Available Pick Lists that are ready for you, along with stats such as Items Picked Today and Completed Today. Each pick list shows its Progress and item count. Choose a list and select Continue Picking to begin.
Pick lists
A pick list groups the items to be picked. It can cover a single order, or be a batch or wave that combines items from several orders so a picker can collect them in one trip. To manage all pick lists – filter by status, type, warehouse, or assigned user – use the Pick Lists page.
Key concepts
- Items by Location – items are grouped by their shelf location so picking follows an efficient path.
- Serial Number – some items require you to scan or enter a serial number as you pick.
- Mark Short – if you cannot find the full quantity, you can record what is missing.
