Set package type, dimensions, and weight

Before an order can ship, each package needs a recorded type, dimensions, and weight. These details are used to get accurate shipping rates and to print the right label.

Steps

1. In the Packing Workstation (or from a packing slip), find the Package Information section.
2. Choose the Package Type.
3. Enter the package Length, Width, and Height, and select the dimension unit – in or cm.
4. Enter the Weight and select the weight unit – lb, kg, or oz.
5. Save the package information. The package shows as Dimensions Set.

Requirements

• Package type, length, width, height, dimension unit, weight, and weight unit are all required.
• Each dimension must be greater than zero, and the weight must be greater than zero.

Tip: You can update these dimensions later from the packing slip if you change boxes – look for the option to update package dimensions.
