The Finance Dashboard is your starting point for the Accounting module. It brings together the most important financial figures for your organization so you can see how the business is performing at a glance.
Where to find it
Open the Accounting area from the main menu. The Finance Dashboard is the landing page for Accounting and loads automatically when you enter the module.
What you’ll see
The dashboard pulls live data from across your books and presents it in several sections:
- Key metrics — monthly and year-to-date revenue, expenses, gross margin, and net income.
- Bank accounts — a summary of your active bank accounts, with the default account listed first.
- Overdue invoices — recent invoices that are past their due date and need attention.
- Bills due soon — pending and approved bills coming due within the next 7 days.
- Recent journal entries — the latest posted entries in your general ledger.
- Job profitability — a profitability summary for the current month.
- Tax summary — tax collected this month and year-to-date, the Sales Tax Payable balance, and any tax exemptions that are expiring or expired.
Interactive charts
Several widgets on the dashboard load on demand, including revenue and expense trends, cash flow, accounts receivable (AR) aging, accounts payable (AP) aging, and profit margin.
Tip: The dashboard is read-only. To make changes, open the related area such as Chart of Accounts, Journal Entries, or Bank Accounts.
