Transaction register and recalculating the balance

Each bank account has a transaction register that lists its activity with a running balance. You can also recalculate the account’s balance from its transactions if it ever looks out of date.

View the transaction register

  1. From the Accounting menu, open Bank Accounts.
  2. Open the account and go to its Transactions register.
  3. Optionally set a Start date and End date to focus on a period. By default the current month is shown.

The register shows each transaction with a running balance, a summary for the period, and details of the last completed reconciliation.

Recalculate the balance

  1. Open the bank account.
  2. Choose the recalculate action.

The current balance is recomputed from the account’s transactions, and you’ll see a confirmation.

Tip: The account detail page also shows recent payments and a period summary of deposits, withdrawals, and balances.
