Create a lead

Create a lead whenever you want to capture a new prospect and start tracking your follow-up.

Steps

  1. Open Leads from the main navigation.
  2. Select Create Lead (or New).
  3. Fill in the lead’s details. Every field is optional, so enter what you know:
    • First Name and Last Name
    • Company
    • Email and Phone
    • Title
    • Source — where the lead came from
    • Status — New, Working, Qualified, or Unqualified
    • Rating — Hot, Warm, or Cold
    • Estimated value
    • Owner — the team member responsible
    • Description — any notes or context about this lead
  4. Select Create to save.

After saving, you are taken to the lead’s detail page where you can log activities, edit it, or convert it later.

Tip: If you leave Owner blank, the lead is assigned to you. If you leave Status blank, it starts as New.
