This article covers managing messages you haven’t sent yet (drafts) and messages you’ve removed (trash), including how to restore or permanently delete them.
Drafts
When you Save Draft while composing, the message is stored so you can finish it later. Open the draft, complete it, and click Send.
Move a message to Trash
Use Move to Trash on a message to remove it from your inbox. Trashed messages are kept so you can recover them if needed.
Restore a trashed message
Open the Trash, find the message, and click Restore to return it to your inbox.
Delete permanently
- Delete forever — permanently removes a single message from the Trash.
- Empty Trash — permanently removes everything in the Trash at once.
Warning: permanently deleting a message cannot be undone. Restore it instead if you might need it later.
