If you have turned on two-factor authentication, signing in includes one extra step: entering a code after your password. This guide explains that step.
Enter your authentication code
- Sign in with your email and password as usual.
- On the Two-Factor Authentication page, open your authenticator app and read the current 6-digit code.
- Type the code into the Authentication Code field.
- Click Verify.
Once the code is accepted, you are taken to your Dashboard.
Use a recovery code instead
If you do not have your authenticator app handy, you can sign in with one of the one-time recovery codes you saved when setting up 2FA.
- On the Two-Factor Authentication page, click Use a recovery code instead.
- Enter one of your recovery codes (in the XXXX-XXXX-XXXX format).
- Click Verify.
Warning: Each recovery code can be used only once. After using one, consider regenerating a fresh set from your security settings.
Trouble verifying
- Codes change every 30 seconds — if a code is rejected, wait for the next one and try again.
- After several incorrect attempts you may be temporarily blocked; the screen will tell you how long to wait.
- If you have lost both your app and your recovery codes, contact your administrator, who can reset two-factor authentication for you.
