Cancel or delete a purchase order

If an order is no longer needed, you can either cancel it or, while it is still a draft, delete it entirely.

Cancel a purchase order

Cancelling keeps the order on record but marks it as Cancelled. You can cancel an order that is Draft, Pending Approval, or Approved.

1. Open the purchase order.
2. In the Actions box, click Cancel Purchase Order.

Delete a purchase order

Deleting removes the order completely. This is only possible while the order is editable (Draft or Pending Approval).

1. Open the purchase order.
2. In the Danger Zone, click Delete Purchase Order.

Warning: Deleting cannot be undone. Once an order has been approved or has received stock, it can no longer be deleted — cancel it instead.
