Leads overview

Leads are potential customers you are still qualifying. The Leads area gives you one place to capture, track, and follow up with people and companies who have shown interest, before they become full accounts and contacts.

Where to find Leads

Open Leads from the main navigation. The list shows your leads with their key details and the people who own them. By default, leads that have already been converted are hidden so you can focus on active opportunities.

Key concepts

  • Status tracks where a lead is in your process. The available statuses are New, Working, Qualified, and Unqualified. Once a lead is converted it is marked Converted.
  • Rating lets you flag how promising a lead is, using Hot, Warm, or Cold.
  • Source records where the lead came from. New leads you add by hand are recorded with a source of manual.
  • Owner is the team member responsible for the lead. If you do not pick an owner, the lead is assigned to you.
  • Estimated value is the potential worth of the opportunity.

What you can do with a lead

Tip: A lead is meant to be temporary. Once it qualifies, convert it so the relationship lives on as an account and contact.
