Bank Accounts

Delete or deactivate a bank account

You can delete a bank account that has never been used. If an account has activity, deactivate it instead so its history is preserved.

Delete a bank account

  1. From the Accounting menu, open Bank Accounts.
  2. Open the account you want to remove.
  3. Choose the delete action.

Deletion is only allowed when the account has no linked payments and no transactions. If either exists, the system blocks the deletion and suggests deactivating the account instead.

Deactivate instead

To retire an account that has history, open its Edit form and turn off the Active status. The account stays in your records but is no longer treated as active.

Warning: Deleting cannot be undone. Deactivating is the safer choice for any account that has been used.
