Job Costing tracks the revenue, costs, and profit for individual jobs — both work orders and projects. It helps you see which jobs are profitable and where money is being spent.
Where to find it
From the Accounting menu, open Job Costing. The dashboard shows recent work orders and projects with their revenue, cost, profit, and margin, along with overall totals.
Cost types
Costs are categorized into:
- Labor
- Material
- Equipment
- Subcontractor
- Overhead
- Other
Key concepts
- Each job shows Revenue, total Cost, gross Profit, and profit Margin.
- You can drill into a single work order or project to see its detailed cost breakdown.
- You can set a budget per cost type and compare budget vs. actual.
- Costs can be marked billable.
What you can do
- View costing for a work order or project
