Creating a shipping label has three parts: create the shipment, choose a rate, and purchase the label. The most common starting point is a fulfillment order that has finished packing.
Step 1: Create the shipment
- From a packed fulfillment order (status Awaiting Ship), choose to ship it. The Create Shipment page opens.
- Review the Ship To details and correct any that are wrong. Name, address, city, state, ZIP, and country are required. You can also set whether it is a Residential Address.
- Check the Package Details – Weight and unit, and Length, Width, Height and unit. These are pre-filled from the packing slip when available.
- Optionally enter a Declared Value.
- Save to create the shipment. You move on to selecting a rate.
You can also create a shipment directly from an invoice or a work order using the same form.
Step 2: Select a rate
- On the Select Shipping Rate page, review the available rates, grouped by carrier.
- Choose the service that fits your cost and delivery needs.
Tip: If no rates appear, double-check the ship-to address and package details, then try again.
Step 3: Purchase the label
- Confirm your chosen rate to purchase the label.
- The shipment status becomes Label Created and a Tracking Number is assigned.
- Open or download the label and apply it to the package.
Warning: A label can only be purchased once per shipment. If a label already exists, you will need to void it before buying a new one.
