Assign and dispatch a work order

Assign and dispatch a work order

Get a work order to the right technician and send it out for the field.

Assign a technician

  1. Open the work order.
  2. Choose a technician from the available field technicians and confirm the assignment.
  3. The technician is set on the work order and can see it in their schedule.

Dispatch the work order

  1. Make sure the work order has a technician assigned and is in Scheduled status.
  2. Select Dispatch to send it to the technician.
  3. The status moves to Dispatched and the dispatch time is recorded.

Tip: You can assign and dispatch many work orders at once from the Dispatch Board.

Status flow in the field

Once dispatched, the assigned technician advances the job through En Route, In Progress, and Completed from their schedule.
